Farmville Addicts Beware

This poor kid racked up 1400 bucks in credit card debt on his Farmville account (one of the very addictive games inside of facebook).

There are a lot of Facebookers out there who are addicted to
Farmville, that ever so quirky game where users build small communities
in the form of farms. It’s a social experiment dipped steeply in social
media and is addicting.

Just as a 12-year-old UK boy who racked up £905 in FarmVille debt,
£288 of that came from his savings. The rest of it — £625 — came from
charging up his mother’s credit card. The total haul was roughly $1,400
and it was billed over a two week period during a part of Farmville
that allows users to spend real cash to get virtual money in order to
buy items for their farm.

Of course, you don’t have to spend a dime to play the game.  In fact, I find it crazy that anyone would.  But, the point is that you CAN spend money to advance faster (sounds like real life to me) if you want to.  So, of course, some morons will.  And they’ll pay the price for it – literally.
